The Ask a Shop Owner group

A free Facebook group for owner-operators. Bring the thing you're stuck on, get answers from people who have already run the shop, and skip the guru content. It's the same instinct behind the product: real operator knowledge, not the open internet.

What gets talked about

  • Pricing and margin

What people actually charge, how they raised a rate without losing the customer, and what a healthy net looks like at your size.

  • Hiring and firing

First hire timing, what to pay, the interview questions that predict who shows up, and how owners handled the one they should have let go sooner.

  • Customers and quoting

The words to use when someone says you're too expensive, deposits, change orders, and collecting without wrecking the relationship.

  • Getting your life back

Handing off the schedule, writing the process down once, and running the place without being in it fourteen hours a day.

House rules

  • Real questions with real context: trade, size, and the number you're stuck on.
  • Answers from experience. What you did, what it cost, what happened.
  • Disagree plainly. Two owners can both be right for their own shop.
  • No pitching, DM-me funnels, or affiliate links.
  • No recruiting members into your coaching program.
  • No screenshots of another member's post outside the group.

How the group and the site fit together

The group is owners helping owners in public, on their own schedule. The site is the same knowledge, organized and available at 10pm when nobody is online to answer. Start with the answer library, see how it works, find your kind of shop, or start a 7-day free trial. Writing about the group or the company? Everything quotable lives in the press kit.
