Setting goals the team can actually see themselves in

'Grow the business' isn't a goal. It's a wish. The team can't aim at it.

Pick three numbers for the year, max

Revenue, gross margin, and one operational number (jobs per week, average ticket, callback rate). Three is enough. Five is noise.

Translate the numbers to the floor

'$2M revenue' means nothing to a tech. 'Two more booked jobs a week' does. Translate every top-line goal into something the team can see in their day.

Share the scoreboard, monthly

A simple monthly update (one slide, one email, one whiteboard) on whether the numbers are tracking. People work harder for goals they can see moving.
