Cleaning business, when should I hire my first cleaner?
Answered by Ask a Shop Owner ·
I clean 4 houses a day, 5 days a week, booked out. Body is starting to hurt. Nervous about hiring.

You needed to hire six months ago. The signal is your body, and it is talking to you.
Hire a working supervisor, not just a cleaner. Someone you can pay $18 to $22/hr who will run one crew of two. That doubles your capacity without you being at every house.
Pay by the house, not by the hour, once you have their number. Fastest, cleanest way to align incentives. Slow cleaners quit, fast good cleaners make great money. Just check work in the first 30 days.
