Lead with the outcome, not the line items
The first paragraph of the quote should describe what the customer gets when the work is done, not a list of materials and labor codes. Customers buy outcomes; line items are just the receipt.
Three tiers beat one number
Good / better / best lets the customer say yes to a version of the work instead of yes/no to one price. Most owners report 20-30% more revenue per closed job within 60 days of switching.
Put the expiration on the page
'Quote valid for 14 days' creates a soft deadline. Without it, quotes drift for months and the customer forgets the urgency that made them call in the first place.
Send it the same day
Speed beats polish. A clear quote in 4 hours wins more work than a beautiful quote in 4 days. The competitor who answers first usually wins the job.
