What should I charge for a sewer camera inspection?

Answered by Ask a Shop Owner ·

Just bought a camera. Not sure how to price it as a standalone service or bundled with drain cleaning.

Standalone $299 to $499 depending on market, credit against related repair if they book within 30 days. Bundled with drain clean, add $99 to $149 to the drain call and always offer.

The camera is not a revenue center, it is a sales tool. Every camera job that finds a broken sewer becomes a $6k to $18k repipe or spot-repair. The camera fee is fine as break-even; the found work is the business.

Record every inspection. Send the customer a link to the video after. Nothing sells a $12k sewer job like the customer seeing tree roots in their own line.
