How do I handle a difficult customer?
Short answer
Solve the problem if it's real. Fire them if it's not.
First, listen
Most 'difficult' customers are scared. Something is broken, money is involved, and they don't know what's normal. Five minutes of listening turns 80 percent of them around.
Fire the rest
The 20 percent who can't be made happy by good work and honesty are not your customer. Refund their deposit, walk away, and warn the team. Your sanity is worth more than their revenue.
