How do I handle customers who only care about price?

By Ask a Shop OwnerUpdated Sales

Short answer

Qualify them out in the first call. They're not your customer and trying to convert them costs more than ignoring them.

The early filter

'A lot of folks shop us on price, totally fair. Just so we don't waste your time: most of our jobs land in the $X to $Y range. Does that fit what you had in mind?' You'll lose 20 percent right there, and they were never closing.

Keep your sanity

The cheapest customer is the most expensive customer. They demand the most, pay the slowest, and review the harshest. Let your competition have them.
