Why do customers ghost after a quote?

By Ask a Shop OwnerUpdated Sales

Short answer

Usually because you didn't ask for a decision. You sent a number and waited.

What broke

A quote with no follow-up timeline is a wish list. Customers default to silence because nothing is scheduled. They aren't being rude, you didn't ask them for anything.

Fix it

End every quote with: 'I'll call you Thursday at 10 to answer questions and either book it or not. Sound good?' You get a yes or a no, not silence.
